Beware of Hot Sammiches

by on Aug.23, 2011, under Podcasts

Seriously,  hot sammiches is the cause of 90% of accidents in the home, can scar you for life AND  leads to frivolous lawsuits, as we find out in this weeks cast  which, has a lot of news and revews to cover seeing as we have been away for a while.

To make up for our break,  this week we review “Never Let Me Go”, Mel Gibson’s planned  comeback movie  “The Beaver”, Brandon Routh starring “Dylan Dog:Dead of Night”; GI JOE and Billy Elliot  go behind enemy lines in “The Eagle”, and Jon Favreau’s Sci-fi western “Cowboys and Aliens”.

We also dip a little into nostalgia with a quick summary of the new “Thundercats” TV show, talk about the the latest casting rumour for “Hong Kong Phooey”, discuss the latest updates on the new “Avengers” and “Dark Knight” movies, plus discuss which makes the better Judge Dredd, the replica costume or the one it looks like they are using for the movie.

Hats off!

Which...ahem,"helmet" do you prefer?

As usual, I’ve collected all the interesting links to trailers and pics below, take a look.

We’ve gone on holiday by mistake!

by on Aug.17, 2011, under Newspost

“Are you the farmer!?”

Oh God Kill it!!! Kill it with FIRE!!!!

But seriously we seem to have taken an unplanned break in podcasting as we kind of reviewed all the latest releases that were available in the last podcast and then I kind of went on holiday for a bit leaving Gavin high and dry (he can’t get down off the wardrobe when i move his stepladder)

Don’t worry though,  I’m back now and all better (mostly) and we should have some reviews and news coming your way any. day. now.

Honestly we have top men working on it now. Who?  Top. Men.

Captain America & The Avengers disapprove of tardiness

by on Aug.03, 2011, under Avengers, Podcasts

Yes, yes  we’re a little late this week, apologies if we messed up your schedule,  hopefully this week’s review heavy, comic-con rounding up show will make it up to you.

“You’ve gotta be kiddin me with this happy horse “late” bullshit….verily”

In the cast this week Gav and I review “Captain America“,”Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, modern horror “Insidious”, 80’s nostalgia-fest “Take me Home Tonight”, “Hanna” with Saoirse Ronan, Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett and finally (in all senses of the word) “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2”.

As well as all this, we roundup everything that’s worth checking out from San Diego Comic Con this year, most of which you can check out yourselves below

Show Notes/links:

And finally, I’ll leave you with a lucky snapshot of Justin Timberlake looking dumber than a bag of hammers in the trailer for “In Time”:

The video player just presented me with this image! I couldn’t resist a screen grab. Look at his FACE!

THE Man

Ok, ok  so we ripped this weeks sound file joke straight off another podcast (who listens to Adam and Joe on BBC  Six music anyways, I didn’t even know the BBC’s went as high as 6 ) but it was soo good we had to share it with you.

Apart from Pierce Brosnan shouting, sorry  I mean acting, this week Gavin reviews  “Tracker” starring Ray Winstone and Temuera Morrsson while Iain reviews Cedar Rapids with Ed Helms, John C Reilly,Anne Heche  and a big cuddly black dude (Isiah Whitlock Jr., pictured).

That’s right no Harry Potter review this week, you’ll have to wait until next week (it was booked out!)

As well as all this we talk about the latest news of a remake of “The Evil Dead”, the leaked Avengers trailer  discuss a whole heap of other new trailers (below)  and answer your emails and TWEETS!

Yes that’s right Tweet either of us on the day of the podcast (see the widget over there to the right) and we’re pretty much guaranteed to read it out.

Until next time enjoy the show….

We interrupt our regular scheduled broadcast…

by on Jul.17, 2011, under Newspost

No podcast today (Sunday) folks, Gavin had some “stuff to do” and I lay by the pool at day (don’t hate me).
We should bring you another cast by Tuesday however, so don’t change that dial.

Midweek Madness

by on Jul.13, 2011, under Podcasts

That’s right, no podcast at the weekend due to traffic problems* but we couldn’t let a week go by without a sitting together to waffle on about movies so we’re proud to present a special mid-week episode of the McYapandFries movie podcast. (bear with us for the first few seconds of this week’s cast , there is a point honest)

This week we’ve got a double whammy of reviews with creature feature “Attack the Block” (in cinemas now) and the film that inspired it’s title; South Korea’s “Attack the Gas Station”, followed up with a review of the tale of a psychotic, psychic, tyre called Robert in “Rubber”.

We’ve also got  a raft of trailers to review (see links below), lots of news on Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit”, and all sorts of gossip on casting news.

If you enjoy the show join the fun by emailing us at podcast@mcyapandfries.com or using the form at the “contact us” link above.

Until next time…

*there weren’t really traffic problems, read the news will ya!

Transformers 3: The Dark side of Matlock

by on Jul.04, 2011, under Podcasts

Yup I said Matlock. The two most memorable items this podcast  were our regular as clockwork review, (every 2 years so far), of the latest offering/insult from Michael Bay in the Transformers franchise, plus a bit where  Gavin talked about Matlock for a bit, as is his wont.

We also chatted about a whole heap of trailers (links below if you want to “watch along” with Mc and Yap) news of the latest Thor sequel and who, reportedly, won’t be returning to Asgard, Robert Rodriguez’s interesting split personality, Aromascope, Chocolate bar movies, Vince Vaughan, and conceptual Transformers.

If you’d like to join in the fun, submit a question or comment via the “comments” section below or use the form available at the “Contact us” link above.

Til next time…
