Welcome to the new McYapandFries!

by on Dec.16, 2010, under Newspost

After over 2 years,  waaay too much custom coding (thankfully thrown away)  and a heap of procrastinating we are finally proud to present our new look blog/website thingy.

Now that we have a more stable base we hope to bring you more content (whether you like it or not ) and more features to extend the site beyond just the podcast.

Both Yap and I hope you come back often (or subscribe via the link over there on the right), and that we are up to the task of keeping this behemoth going.

At this stage it’s unknown whether we can fit in another cast before the end of the year (work crap) but we’ll try and squeeze one in if we can.

(If you run into any issues email me at podcast@mcyapandfries.com and I’ll get right back to you!)

Here we go…

..at least it’s better than the teaser for Hop

by on Nov.30, 2010, under Newspost

Which is something that can be said pretty much about every teaser we see for the first time this week, from Green Lantern to Duncan Joneses Source Code, to Red Riding Hood of all things by twilight director Catherine Hardwicke. We also discuss why Billy Bob Thornton thinks Hollywood is making bad movies and Blade going to jail. All this plus reviews of Unstoppable, Rapunzel/Tangled, Skyline and BBC TV’s Sherlock. It’s a packed show.

2 weeks leave…

by on Nov.28, 2010, under Newspost

..without even a by-your-leave and for that we apologise. No cast last week due to prior commitment but I think we made up for it with this weeks dose of movie news and reviews with Gavin and my reviews of Unstoppable, Rapunzel(also known as Tangled),Skyline and BBC’s Sherlock. Hopefully we’ll be back to our regular schedule next week…or the week after.

Could Ryan Reynolds REALLY be the De Niro of his generation after all?

by on Oct.24, 2010, under Podcasts

It was said on this very cast, many, many moons ago that Ryan Reynolds would one day live up to Bobbie De Niro’s acting standard and judging by the review of Buried by Gavin and guest reviewer the Beauty Queen from Mars, that day may just have come. So while they review a movie with just one actor on screen for the whole piece, Iain reviews RED, the oldie actioner with an overabundance of talent with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freemen , Helen Mirren John Malkovich and Richard Dreyfus all turning up. For what we thought you’ll have to listen to the cast. Until next time.
