Benders and Merlinians ain’t no match for The Expendables

by on Aug.15, 2010, under Podcasts

Benders and Merlinians. That’s the kind of gobbledegook that we have in the multiplexes this Summer. Thank god for Sly Stallone and his rough and tumble Expendables for saving us from us these monstrosities. Get the full low down on what we thought of this slice of 80’s action pie along with The Last Airbender and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice in this weeks podcast along with the news of who’s confirmed to play Judge Dredd

..and normal service has new been resumed.

by on Aug.15, 2010, under Newspost

After a few hiccups last weekend we’re back this week with a new podcast for you, where we review The Expendables, The Last Airbender and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Pretty soon you should be seeing some BIG changes around the site and overall EVERYTHING should improve, most of all we should no longer have a site that makes your eyes bleed looking at it.

Over the next few weeks though there may be some interruptions to the site so please bear with us during any outages, and I promise that if I change anything too much, the changes are fully explained here. The homepage, podcast page and RSS feed should not be affected too much so there should be no changes required on your end. I hope… Anyway kick back, relax have a beer and enjoy this week’s cast.

..of my mind not catapult the bloody thing out the back of my head!
That’s the kind of feeling San Diego Comic Con gives you. What a trip.

As with last year Gavin’s provided a full run down of what he got up to at the con in this week’s podcast, but this time I joined him and we camped out in Hall H for ELEVEN HOURS STRAIGHT to get all the blistering hot news on the upcoming superhero and sci-fi movies for you in this weeks podcast, available here

We’re still getting over the jet lag but hopefully I’ll be able to use the hours of 6am-9am when I can’t sleep to edit together some of the video footage taken for a highlight reel for Until then enjoy the cast

McYap and Fries vs Scott Pilgrim vs San Diego Comic Con 2010

by on Aug.01, 2010, under Podcasts

The San Diego Comic Con is becoming a major event in the marketing arsenals of movie studios pushing their next event movies on the public.
In some cases this is a match made in heaven, spreading good worth of mouth (Tron, Scott Pilgrim vs the World), while in others not so much (Salt).

This year Iain joined Gavin to sample the sights, sounds, costumes and UTTER BAT-SHIT INSANITY that takes over the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego for four and a half days each year, and report back to you, with news on Megamind, Battle Los Angeles, Simon Pegg and Nick Frosts latest movie “Paul” “Captain America” “Thor” “Tron” “Red” “The Expendables” and many more.
As part of this comic con cavalcade we are also proud to present our review of Scott Pilgrim vs the World which we managed to catch at a free screening and finally we get around to reviewing Chris Nolan’s latest masterpiece Inception

Lohan’s Run

by on Jul.08, 2010, under Newspost

Wouldn’t it me great if Lindsey made a run for Mexico before going to Jail? That shit would make a great movie script. She could even star when she gets out. Or get Miley Cyrus…
This week Gavin and I managed to catch a sneak peak of the new Predators movie and boy is it a doozy. Check out our full review in this weeks podcast.

Comic con is ony a week or two away at this stage (the schedule for Thursday is now available here) and we’ll be working hard to bring you some surprises from the show. More news as we get closer to the event.
